Damayanti was born on 11 February 1962 in Bandung, the Capital of West Java province. She is married with two children. She started her career in 1987 when she was recruited as civil servant at the Secretariat General of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia, precisely after graduated from the Faculty of Social and Politics of the Parahyangan Catholic University (Bandung) in 1986. In pursuing her career, she committed herself to pursue higher education in order to be capable for competition in the professional fields. In 2005, she got Master degree in Administration of Public Policy from the University of Indonesia (Jakarta).Gradually, she held various important posts at the Secretariat General which brought her to a high-rank position at the Secretariat General of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia. On 19 September 2015, she was assigned to be Deputy Secretary General of the House, in charge of Sessions of the House. This post puts her as one of the highest-rank officials at the Secretariat and leads her to become member of the ASGP.
