The Secretary General of the Chamber of Deputies, lawyer by profession, has a vast experience in the management of the public institution. She worked in parliamentary administration between 2000 and 2009 in positions with increased levels of responsibility. Ms. Mihalcea was vice president and under-secretary of the National Authority for Consumer Protection, in 2009. The Authority coordinates and realizes the strategy and policy of the Romanian Government with regard to the enforcement of Consumer Protection in the country. Between 2012 and 2016, she was the General Director of the National Trade Register Office, the institution that keeps the trade register, provides information regarding companies, and assists legal and natural persons subject to registration. In 2016, Ms. Mihalcea was appointed as Deputy Secretary General of the Chamber of Deputies and she fulfilled this mandate until February 2017, when she was elected as Secretary General. Ms. Mihalcea was born in 1979, in Cluj County. She studied Law at the Nicolae Titulescu University of Bucharest and currently she is a PhD candidate in the General Theory of Law at the same university. The Secretary General speaks fluently English and French.
